Vernon Baptist Church

Vernon Baptist Church was established by Rev. Earl Cannon in 1943. Pastor Cannon went door to door asking for donations and picked up many bricks to help build the church. In March 1950, we marched into our newly built church home. Pastor Cannon grew the church by building the outreach ministry and advertising. After serving as Pastor for 46 years, Pastor Cannon resigned. 

In December 1989, Rev. Ezelle White was elected as our new Pastor. Under Pastor White's Leadership, we remodeled major areas of the church. We reached higher heights, grew spiritually and numerically through Pastor White's teaching and preaching. In 2005 after the passing of the Late Rev. Ezelle Jr., our associate Minister Rev, Daryl Flagg took the torch and became our Pastor.

 In 2013, God blessed us tremendously with our current Pastor, Rev. Andrew Gibson. Under his leadership, we have restarted our Transportation Ministry, started a community outreach program, gained many new fellowships, initiated a Minister Study class, ordained ministers, and the list goes on. 

Miracles are what we believe in. As we continue to follow our Pastor as he follows Christ, we will be victorious. Our trust is in God that he may deem it worthy to shower his continuous blessings upon us as we continue to lift up the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
